This website contains 18 Presentations with video interviews, covering the three core areas of ICT activity: Vision, Review and Implementation. These link to over 200 resources: websites; PowerPoint presentations; Word documents; and PDF documents. The resources are categorised in the Toolkit and can be searched by keyword. There is also an A-Z index of keywords.
These Presentations and resources have been developed and gathered together for you to adapt for use in your own school.
The Word, PowerPoint and PDF resources are held on this website. To access the websites you will need a connection to the internet.
Several readers and viewers for the various documents are provided
on the website in the setup check
section, but a wider range is available online from Adobe (www.adobe.com)
and Microsoft (www.microsoft.com).

How does the Search facility work?
The keyword search can look for the exact text you enter 'as a phrase' or it can look for any of the words.
When searching for text 'as a phrase', the precise wording that you enter must be matched for a resource to appear in the results list. This means adding words will generally produce fewer results. For example, if you search for 'vision of' this will NOT match "vision in the classroom", or "revision of work", but it would match "had a vision of a new..."
When searching for any of the words, more results will be found.
Wild card matching, using the star symbol (*) to represent any letters, allows you to find a wider range of words. For instance, searching for 'vis*' will match 'vision', but it will also match 'visual' and 'visor'.
If you are getting few or no results, try less words, more general words, or use the A-Z index of keywords.

How accessible is this website?
Although this website does not meet all requirements of WAI and Bobby
compliance, the information on the website is provided in HTML text using
Cascading Style Sheets which is helpful for screen-readers and allows the text
sizes and colours to be changed by the user, depending on the browser used. We
have also provided transcripts of the video and animations.

How do I make text easier to see?
Some web browsers allow you to adjust the size of text. Because
the setting can remain from one session to another, it is common
for browsers to be left in a non-standard configuration. This may
affect the performance and attractiveness of pages.
To return the text sizes to the normal (medium) setting in Internet
Explorer, go to the "View" menu and choose "Text
Size" (or "Text Zoom" in Mac OS X.) Then select the
"medium" or "100%" option.
In the Safari browser, go to the "View" menu and tick
the "Text Size" option. You will then see text-sizing
buttons on the toolbar.

I can't watch the videos. What should I do?
If you are saving the PowerPoint presentations to your hard drive
to use without the website, you must also save the video
clip, which is listed alongside each presentation, to the same folder.
All these files are listed on the resources
page.
If you want to view the video within the HTML version of the page,
i.e. using a web browser, your computer will call upon whatever
is the default video player. This may have been changed by third-party
software which has been installed by you or another user of your
computer. For a "standard" environment, Windows users
should ensure Windows Media Player is the default player for all
video types and has been updated using Windows Update. Macintosh
users should ensure that Quicktime is installed and has been updated
using Software Update.
Sadly it is not possible to guarantee results with video clips
because so many competing technologies exist.

Sometimes, when I click on a resource, my computer freezes. What has happened?
Some of the resources that this website links to are on the Internet.
Some of the resources are quite large files and they could take some time to download. If you are patient, you may find that some files will load, it's just that they will take time to appear.
Some web pages also include a lot of scripting (code embedded in the pages), which can effect how well the web pages work and how quickly they download.
Bear in mind that some older computers may have trouble running multiple windows. As each resource opens in a new window, you may find that closing some of your open windows allows your computer to open new resources more easily.
